Program Description The program’s 30 credits can be completed within 18 months due to an accelerated course model. Neither a capstone nor an internship are required. Students learn foundations of educational psychology and research and then specialize in one of five concentration areas. 

What will I Learn?

Educational psychology is the branch of psychology concerned with the learning process, including cognitive processes, the learning environment, the relationship between teachers and learners, the process of lifelong learning, and other topics. Educational psychologists are employed by schools, universities and colleges, community organizations, research centers, testing providers, consulting firms, and other employers. 

The program aims to provide a breadth and depth of curriculum covering human learning and development, particularly in higher learning settings. They will be equipped to train teachers and leaders in higher learning settings, due to advanced knowledge of psychological theories of learning, classroom assessment, and developmental psychology. Graduates will be able to perform quantitative research in educational psychology. 

Foundation courses are Psychology of Human Development and Human Learning and Achievement Motivation. Specialist skills are taught in Advanced Educational Psychology and Tests and Measurements. Students hone crucial professional techniques in Methodology of Educational and Psychological Research and Statistical Methods in Educational and Psychological Research. 

Students can specialize in one of the following concentrations: Gifted and Talented, Human Development, Neuropsychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a Customizable concentration program.
