Required courses provide a balance between theory and practice. Students begin their training with two required courses in Human Behavior in. the Social Environment and a course in Human Diversity. Required practicum work is accompanied by four required Field Education Internship courses. Professional counseling skills are taught in Psychopathology, Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment, Trauma Theory and Treatment, and Addictions Assessment and Treatment. Key leadership approaches are covered in Social Work Policy, Social Policy & Social Policy Practice, and Social Work Research I and II. Students learn management skills in Trauma-Informed Policy and Social Work Administration.
