Program Description This 30-credit program emphasizes computer science topics Students choose from among three concentrations. A capstone is required. The program follows an accelerated course schedule, allowing students to graduate faster and reap the benefits of their degree.

 

What will I Learn?

The Pace University cyber-security master’s program offers three concentrations: cyber operations, cybersecurity leadership, and a general concentration.  In all three concentrations students receive instruction in cybersecurity that combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience. Most of the curriculum is taught in a lab environment using innovative tools and technologies. Key skills taught include cryptography, biometrics security, secure software design principles, secure networking and digital forensics. Students also gained the contextual knowledge needed to succeed in management and leadership roles including legal, ethical, and compliance foundations. 

All students in the program must take the following foundation courses: Introduction to Cybersecurity, Operating Systems: Theory and Administration, Information Security Management, Network Security and Defense, and Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing. Students then take three courses within their concentration and choose one elective outside of their concentration.  Their learning is consolidated in the Cybersecurity Capstone project. , Cybersecurity Capstone Project.

Pace University has designed its curriculum around in-demand skills desired by Employers in both the public and the private sector.  The cyber-security Pastor said paste has been designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education.

How does the program fit into my life?

Students are required to attend some classes “live” online at a set time each week, and some courses offer an asynchronous model, meaning that students complete coursework on their own schedule each week. No campus visit is required.

Most students complete the program within 1 year. Students can enter the program in May or September. Classes are 14 weeks in length.

Summary

Mid-range in terms of cost, this computer-science oriented master’s program offers accessible training in cybersecurity fundamentals.  Offering an accelerated curriculum, the degree allows students to finish their program more quickly and re-enter the workforce with expanded skills.
